Walnut Coffee Table

The newest editions to my ready-to-buy furniture collection my round coffee tables. 

This one of a kind piece was made from a rare beauty, Irish grown walnut. The flow of the grain and the colour variation through this slab are simply breathtaking.

This piece is inspired by the form of the timber slab. Made from a crotch piece, you can see the faint Y shape of the bough where one thick branch splits off into two smaller ones. The strain of this in the tree left a ripple effect in the wood grain at this junction.

This particular board has multiple splits which I have stabilised with a series of different sized butterfly inlay. Each one is hand cut, adding strength and beauty to the finished piece, making a feature of the imperfect perfection that nature created 

The planets are a series of round, live edge tables created from single slabs of timber. Each table top has been carefully considered to showcase the inherent beauty of the tree it came from. Showcasing the unique colour, character and flaws that naturally occur

The bespoke frame is handmade by a local blacksmith making the table a true work of craftsmen
