Bespoke
Why commission.
Every piece is built from scratch, in solid native timber, around your space. No two slabs are alike, so no two pieces ever will be. I keep my books deliberately short so each commission gets my full attention.
How a commission unfolds
01 Conversation
We talk through the piece, your space and how you'll live with it.
02 Timber
I source the slab from a local sawmill, or you join me and choose your own.
03 Design
I draw it, you approve it, then it's built by hand using traditional joinery.
04 Delivery
I deliver and settle the piece in, and plant a native tree for every commission.
The top is only the beginning. Choose a sculpted wooden leg, an off-the-shelf metal base, or something forged by a local blacksmith — every part is a decision we make together.

Bespoke Creation
Commissioning a piece of furniture from Bough and Burr and together we can create a truly unique piece of furniture for your home. Whether you have a specific idea in mind or want to give me free rein in the design I'll guide you through the process.
From dining tables to coffee tables, benches to side tables solutions and bed frames Bough and Burr have you covered. I can do custom size chopping boards too.
I will reach out to my favourite sawmills and find what they have to meet your needs. I can provide you with a range of different native timbers to choose from. Or you can join me on a sawmill visit and pick your own timber.
Slabs of wood as snowflakes each one has is own completely unique grain pattern meaning not two slabs are the same. Design wise your imagination is the limit I can create a contemporary wooden leg for your table top to sit on or if you want something more sculptural - like the bespoke metal legs on the horse chestnut dining table - I can arrange bespoke metalwork fabrication for you as well.
